Crystal Meth: Friend or Foe

I couldn't help but laught at this list of 41 brilliant science fair projects. My favorite? Crystal Meth: Friend or Foe. Too bad the poster is too small to read, I really think a lot of people need an answer on that one. A close second is Plants And Pop. I would have called it "Brawndo: Is it really what plants crave?"

Indiana Jones trailer, censored with CGI.

Yet another victory for CGI in the Indiana Jones trailer. In the US version of the trailer, the Nazis don't have guns.

Ebert on "The Trouble with CGI"

Roger Ebert's review of Jumper: When such miracles can can occur anytime, without reason or explanation, then life and plots are meaningless. "Jumper" may as well be subtitled "The Trouble with CGI." Anything can happen, and usually does, but so what?

Indiana Jones and the Green Screen Pixels

The trailer for the new Indiana Jones movie is up, and it looks computer-graphic-riffic! Check out the pseudo-realism in the scene from Warcraft III the movie in the photo above. I can almost believe it's not completely fake.

The movie co-stars Shia LeBeouf, who's got tons of CGI-fighting street cred from his role in Transformers. Oh no, will the pixels get him? Will the computationally generated explosion hurt him? Will it even remind me of a real explosion? The tension is overwhelming.
